A little bit about me
A little bit about my story
My name is Autumn Giesbrecht. I run Liberty Equine Body work. I have a certificate in equine massage and my passion is healing. My goal is to work with the horse to provide healing and relief for the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. I feel it is important to work through both of these systems to provide the best results for the horse. I believe that to work with a horse you must build their trust first before they will fully allow you to connect with their body. It is important to me to be fully honest and respect the boundaries a horse displays. I do this work because I feel it is very effective, I love horses, and I want to give back to them for all they have done for me. I believe horse athletes should be treated in the same manner as human athletes.
I did not have the opportunity to grow up on my dream farm like other girls, but I did take any chance I could to be with horses. I have owned and trained my own two horses. They taught me all about patience, trust, and connection. But what really got me into what I'm doing is equine therapy. During covid I was struggling with anxiety and my parents thought it would be a good idea to try equine therapy for me. I learned through horse how to express myself and regulate my anxiety. I believe that horses have healed me from the inside out and because of it I decided I wanted to give back to horses, because they helped me so much. That is how I ended up in this career and I absolutely love it.
